Pickup collides with tractor and bean hauler on 54th Street and Weeping Water Road with minor injuries to occupants

Sheriff William Brueggemann advised that on Friday October 2, 2020 at 9:17pm report of a injury accident came in at 54th and Weeping water road involving 2 vehicles and several persons. Deputies from the Cass County Sheriffs Department with EMA, Nehawka Fire and rescue along with  Murray Fire and Rescue responded. Upon arrival it was determined that a white 2018 GMC pickup was traveling northbound on 54th street. A southbound tractor with bean hauler was southbound near Weeping Water road. The pickup was observed failing to slowing down, the tractor driver pulled over to the shoulder as the GMC pickup left front collided with the bean hauler. The left rear tire was sheared off the Bean hauler and the pickup sustained serious damage to the front and drivers side. The 17 year old driver of the pickup was pinned until extricated from the vehicle,   two other juvenile occupants were transported to the Trauma center with serious injuries. A fourth juvenile male who fled on foot into the field, but then returned sometime later with injuries to his shoulder. The driver of the vehicle was a17 year old male from Plattsmouth who was found to be driving under the influence.  Driver was taken into custody and, released to parents. The other occupants have not been fully identified at this time and investigation
