CORRECTIONS OFFICER
(Civilian Position)
($18.66 hr - $23.88 hr)
Job Classification - Nature of Work:
(May not include all duties that may be assigned)
The work of a Corrections Officer involves responsibility for the protection of life and property; for the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime; and, for maintaining law and order within the confines of the Cass County Jail.

Specific assignments are received from superior officers and are carried out in accordance with established rules and procedures found in S.O.P.s. General Orders, and Departmental Directives. Performance
standards for the Corrections Officers shall be established and evaluated by their respective divisional supervisor(s). This assignment is first responsible to the Corporal(s) and then to the Sergeant(s). The Corrections Officers shall wear the Sheriff uniform; and shall be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for the inmates well being and co-employees. Maintain all documentation of visitation, medical treatment, communications, commissary items, accounts, property, of inmates, and maintaining and complying with Nebraska Jail Standards. Performance standards for the officers within the rank of Corrections Officers shall be established and evaluated by their respective Sergeant or Corporal.

DEPUTY SHERIFF - HIRING BOTH CERTIFIED LATERAL AND NON-CERTIFIED

The Cass County Sheriff's Merit Commission is soliciting promising candidates who are interested in serving the citizens of Cass County as Cass County Deputy. Eligibility Requirements: Achievement on written, oral, and physical assessments sufficient to meet the standards required for employment as determined by the Commission. Must pass a polygraph, psychological examination, medical examination, and drug screening. Graduate of high school or GED certificate. Must hold a valid Nebraska driver's license and reside in Nebraska. Have not been convicted of a felony. Twenty-one (21) years of age.

The testing will take place at the City/County Law Enforcement Center in Plattsmouth, NE. The deadline for applications will be October 7, 2022, by 5 p.m.

911 Operator

($18.66 hr-23.88 hr)

 

The Cass County Sheriff's Office has a current opening for the position of 911 Operator. We offer insurance, paid vacations, paid holidays, and sick time. Applicants must possess a high school diploma/GED and a current Nebraska driver's license. Successful applicants must be a minimum of 19 years old and will be subject to an intense background investigation, TABE and typing tests, polygraph, hearing test, and drug screen.
