09/26/2020

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2208 hrs. Cass County Deputies received a report of a vehicle that struck a residence in the area of 2nd St. and Elm St., Louisville.

Upon arrival a deputy located a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado behind 605 E. 2nd St.  Originally the deputy did not locate anyone in the area; however it was observed that the main garage and shed were damaged at that property, along with the garage at 609 E. 2nd St.

Contact was made with the owner and driver of the vehicle, Dean L. Delong (66, of Louisville).  Delong was originally heading northbound on Elm St.  As he turned west onto 2nd St. he drove onto the lawn at 617 E. 2nd St., backed up, then struck the mailbox and a stone retaining wall.  Delong then backed up again, proceeded westbound up the hill before turning into his driveway.  Delong then drove through his garage, coming out into his back yard.  Delong then struck his shed and the neighbor's garage.  Delong was transported by Louisville Rescue as a precaution.  Alcohol is believed to be factor in the crash.  Seatbelts were in use.
