William C. Brueggemann advised on 08-26-2020 Cass County Deputies, along with Eagle Fire & Rescue and Cass County EMS responded to a one-vehicle injury accident on 214th St. just North of Eagle.

Investigation determined that at green, 2000 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north on 214th St. When the driver, James Jelen, 64 of Lincoln lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree before coming to rest. There was a report called into Cass County 911 that indicated the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed just before the accident.

Jelen was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and was transported by Eagle Rescue to Bryan West in Lincoln.
