Accident in Eagle

Sheriff Robert Sorenson reported that on the evening of Sunday, May 26, 2024, Cass County Deputies, Eagle Fire and Rescue, Elmwood Fire and Rescue, Cass County Medics, and LifeNet responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Hwy 34 and 238th St.
 
A silver Toyota SUV driven by 37-year-old Hickman resident James McCoy, with his wife Courtney McCoy and two children as passengers, was traveling southbound on 238th St. McCoy failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of 238th St. and Hwy 34, and his vehicle was struck by a black Chevy Tahoe traveling westbound on Hwy 34. The driver of the Tahoe was identified as 39-year-old Carrie Jardee of Wahoo, with two children as passengers.
 
The collision caused both vehicles to veer into the north ditch. Jardee and the passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Brian West for evaluation and treatment. James McCoy, Courtney McCoy, and one male child also sustained minor injuries and were transported to Brian West. A female child was taken by LifeNet to the UNMC Trauma Center.
 
At this time, the incident is under further investigation.
