Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson advised at approximately 5:41 pm on Thursday, November 23, 2023, the Cass County Sheriff's Office received a report of a disturbance in progress at 479 Rim Ridge Rd. in rural Plattsmouth's Chasemore Estates Subdivision. A firearm was reportedly fired during the disturbance.  

Deputies responded to the residence. The investigation determined an argument started inside the residence between several adult family members. During the argument, Curt Yager (68, of Plattsmouth), retrieved a handgun. The argument continued outside of the residence and escalated. Yager fired a single shot into an occupied vehicle that was parked in the driveway. A second vehicle was also damaged by the shot. Yager was taken into custody without incident and faces multiple felony charges. No injuries were reported. The case remains under investigation.
