Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann announces that early afternoon on Saturday, December 10, 2022, a member of a search party located the body of Mark Clardy (46) southeast of the EB I-80 rest area located near the Mahoney State Park.  

Clardy had been reported missing to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.  Clardy's cell phone last pinged at the Mahoney State Park at 5:30 p.m.  

Ashland Fire and Rescue, Cass County Emergency Management, and Cass County Deputies responded.  Cass County communications contacted the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to advise of the finding of Clardy.  Douglas County responded along with an Investigator from Cass County.
