Cass County Sheriff Wm. C Brueggemann advises that on Saturday May 9th 2020 at 1207 hours Cass County Sheriff's Deputies, Plattsmouth Fire and Rescue and Cass County Emergency Management responded to a two vehicle personal injury accident in the area of 12412 Highway 75 involving a semi and a minivan.

Upon arrival it was discovered that the driver of the minivan, identified as Charlotte Sopala, 57 of Plattsmouth required extraction by Plattsmouth Fire and Rescue. Sopala was transported by Plattsmouth Rescue to Bellevue Medical Center. The investigation revealed that Sopala had pulled off to the side of the roadway to try to make a U turn and pulled out in front of a semi, driven by Tanner Miner, 26 of Nehawka. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Seatbelts were in use by both drivers. Sopala was cited for the illegal U turn. The investigation is complete.
