Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 7:33 PM, Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Plattsmouth Fire and EMS were dispatched to a two vehicle accident, with airbag deployment, at HWY 66 and 6th Street, rural Plattsmouth. The on-scene investigation determined that a 2006 GMC Canyon, driven by Wm. Jacob Gross, 18, of Plattsmouth, was traveling east on Highway 66 when he crossed the center line as he approached the 6th Street intersection and collided with a silver 2021 Chevy Blazer, driven by Kim Briggs, 49, also of Plattsmouth, as she was turning from 6th st. onto HWY 66. Both parties were treated at the scene, Briggs was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Gross was issued a citation for driving left of center, seatbelt violation, and careless driving. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is complete.
