Murray Fire vehicle involved in hitting a pedestrian at Plattsmouth Harvest Festival event.

Cass County Sheriff, Wm. C. Brueggemann, advised that on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 7:49 p.m., Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Plattsmouth Rescue, responded to 4th and Main St. in Plattsmouth, to assist Plattsmouth Police Department in investigating a vehicle versus person collision.  The accident investigation determined that during the Plattsmouth Harvest Festival Parade, Murray Fire Department received an emergency rescue call and had to leave the parade in an expedited manner.  The Murray Fire apparatus, engine 732, driven by Christopher Spangler, 71, of Murray, Nebraska, was escorted off the parade route by parade personal.  As they were leaving Main Street, at a slow pace, they collided with an adult female, identified as Ruth Storm, 58, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska.  Storm was treated at the scene and transported to UNMC - Omaha for further treatment.  No citations were issued, alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and the incident is still under further investigation.
