Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggeman advised that on Thursday July 14, 2022 at 11:14 a.m., Cass County Sheriff Deputies along with Nehawka fire rescue and Cass County Medics responded to a one vehicle rollover injury accident on 42nd Street just south of Hobscheidt Road near Nehawka, NE.

A white 1997 Ford Ranger driven by Raegan L. Hohenfield (22 yoa) of Nehawka, NE was traveling north on 42nd Street. The driver came up over a hill just south of Hobscheidt Road when she observed a semi-truck on the road way that had been dumping fresh gravel. The driver of the Ford Ranger hit her brakes causing her vehicle to fish tail and the driver to lose control of the vehicle causing the vehicle to roll one time and land on the driver side of the pickup. The driver and her passenger self extricated themselves prior to emergency units arrival.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was removed by family members. The driver of the vehicle was transported to UNMC in Omaha by Murray Rescue for her injuries. The passenger was checked out by rescue and released to her parents.

Seatbelts were in use at the time of the accident, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
