Two vehicle injury accident intersection of Hwy 34 & 50

Cass County Sheriff, Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Saturday March 19, 2022 at 4:56 p.m., Cass County Sheriff's Deputies along with Weeping Water, Manley and Avoca fire and rescue and Cass County Emergency Management Medics responded to a two vehicle injury accident at the intersection of Highway 34 and highway 50 near Avoca, NE.

A white 2018 Fiat convertible driven by Jon M. Miller (68 yoa) of Iowa, was traveling south on Highway 50 when he failed to stop at the stop sign at highway 50 and continued through the intersection striking a black 2018 Ford pickup driven by Eric Weber (48 yoa) of Eagle NE, that was traveling west bound on highway 34. The pickup then rolled several times before landing at its final resting place in the south west ditch of highway 34. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

Both drivers were transported to Bryan LGH west for their injuries by Weeping Water and Elmwood rescue squads. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
