01/18/2022

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 5:13 p.m. Cass County Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. deer collision approximately 1.25 miles east of Louisville on State Hwy. 66.  Marc Chamberlain (45, of Omaha) was westbound in 2015 Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicle was struck by a deer.  Due to the area of impact, it is believed that the deer was possibly struck by another vehicle and propelled into Chamberlain's vehicle, but Chamberlain was unable to confirm that information.  After striking the top of the hood the deer entered the passenger compartment through the windshield, breaking the passenger head rest before part of the deer exited through the rear window.  Chamberlain claimed possible minor injuries to his face and hand from flying glass by refused medical attention.  Vehicle sustained front end damage and significant interior damage, and is likely a total loss.  Alcohol not a factor in the crash.  At this time there is no further information if there was a second vehicle involved.
