Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 1859 hrs. Cass County Deputies, along with Nebraska State Patrol and Ashland Fire & Rescue responded to a two-vehicle accident on the Interstate 80 eastbound 426 exit ramp. 

Patricia K. Williams (70, of Lincoln) was exiting eastbound I-80 at the 426 exit.  As she exited she approached a semi that was stopped on the shoulder.  Williams had reduced her speed significantly to avoid any hazards from the stopped vehicle.  In front of the semi was a pickup.  As Williams reached the front of the semi the pickup pulled in front of her vehicle.  Williams was able to stop her vehicle, but the pickup then went into reverse, accelerated rapidly, struck Williams' 2018 Hyundai Accent, and pushed it backwards and off the roadway.  The pickup then continued eastbound, possibly on I-80.  Williams was evaluated by Ashland Rescue but refused transport.  Incident is still under investigation.
