Cass County Sheriff, Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Wednesday August 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., Cass County Deputies along with Manley fire and Elmwood rescue and Cass County Medics responded to a two vehicle, roll over injury accident at the intersection of Highway 1 and 156th Street, Manley NE.

A 2000 silver Buick LeSabre driven by Ralph A. Smith (77 YOA) of Louisville was traveling south bound on 156th Street when the Smith failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection of Highway 1 striking the west bound vehicle which was a brown 1978 Buick Lesabre driven by Shawn T. Brown DOB (35 YOA) of Nehawka. The brown Buick then rolled at least twice before landing on its top. Brown was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Brown was transported to Bergan Mercy Hospital for his injuries by Elmwood Rescue. Smith refused medical treatment.
