Intoxicated Driver causes a two vehicle accident on Highway 75, south of Platte River Bridge

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggeman advised on  June 6th, 2021 at approximately 12:10 a.m.. Cass County Sheriff's Office Deputies, Nebraska State Patrol, and Plattsmouth Fire/Rescue responded  to Highway 75 just south of the Platte River bridge for a two vehicle collision with unknown injuries.  Investigation showed  23 year old Kaleb Stokes of Hoising, Kansas was southbound on Highway 75 in a  2014 Ford Focus, when he entered the grass median and attempted a U-Turn to go north onto Highway 75.  When Stokes began to enter the northbound lane, he struck a 2011 Volkswagen GTI which was northbound on Highway 75, driven by 18 year old Anthony Stichert of Bellevue, Nebraska.   Stokes and Stichert both refused medical treatment at the scene.  Stokes was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol (aggravated) and transported to the Cass County jail.
