Sheriff William C. Brueggemann advised on April 16, 2021 at 2:47 p.m. Cass County Deputies, Along with Weeping Water Fire were dispatched to Hwy 50 & Adams St. in reference to two semi-trucks that collided at the intersection.

Investigation determined that a white, 2003 Freightliner, driven by Harry Hauschild, 76 of Lincoln was eastbound on Adams St., hauling an excavator and was attempting to cross Hwy 50 when the trailer was struck by a southbound 2004, Freightliner driven by Steven Purscell, 50 of LaVista.

There were no injuries reported in the accident.

Hwy 50 was reduced to one lane until Arrow Towing Service from Omaha arrived to remove the 2004 Freightliner from Hwy 50.

Hauschild was issued a citation for failure to yield.
