Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 6:36 p.m. Cass County Communications a broadcast of a burglary in progress from a residence under construction on East McKelvie Rd.  While Deputies were in route, Communications broadcast the thieves left the premises in a dark 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota.  Deputies arrived on scene and determined two white males had stolen several contractor electrical extension cords, valued at almost $500, from the site; security trail camera footage showed the suspects left in a small 4-door Subaru or Mercedes sedan with a Nebraska metro plate.  Deputies were leaving the scene to continue the search for the suspects and were able to quickly locate the suspect vehicle, a 2011 Mercedes Benz C300, with both male suspects present.  The Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and detained both suspects without incident; the suspects were identified as KIRK BALDWIN (Age 49) and CARLOS MOORE (Age 30), both of Omaha, Nebraska.  Both suspects were arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking and Possession of Marijuana, less than 1 oz.
